Kalamare
Bodrum
A long-running fish house at the western Bodrum harbour, with a serious raki sofrası
The mother-and-son Aegean fish house that has held the Yahşi-Ortakent waterfront since the marina was built
Hamide Karakaş runs the back kitchen and her son İsmail runs the floor, between them they keep the longest-standing serious balıkçı on the Ortakent-Yahşi sahil honest. The mezes are mother's-house style (midye dolma, deniz börülcesi, otlu peynir), the fish comes off the day's ice tezgâh, and the room sits a step from the Yahşi marina without leaning on the view. Regulars are mostly Ortakent locals and Bitez second-homers who skip the showier addresses.
Phone the day before, the back-row sea-edge tables go to regulars by name. Order what is on the ice that day; the midye dolma is the house meze.
