Akyarlar
The Akyarlar harbour fish house run by the same family since 1986, with Kos a sunset away across the strait
A third-generation Akyarlar fish house since 1978, on a wooded cape fifteen metres above the strait to Kos
Fener has held the same wooded promontory above the Akyarlar shore for nearly fifty years, now run by the third generation of the founding family. The room sits fifteen metres above the water and the sunset frames Kos straight ahead — but the kitchen is the reason to drive south, with mezes prepared from local produce each morning and grilled fish handled the unfussy way the Aegean coast still rewards. Open year-round, daily into the night.
Aim for a 19:00 table on the cape edge — the strait to Kos lights up first, then the room follows. Order across the cold meze tezgâh and let the kitchen pick whichever fish came in that morning.
