Palavra Balık

Palavra is a small rakı-balık room on Yahşi's Müskebi Caddesi strip, sitting in line with Club Müskebi. The dining room is family-room scale, with a plain wicker-chair layout, seasonal mezes (deniz börülcesi, fava, fresh herb cheese) and a short fish card leaning on the day's catch. The signatures of the house are grilled octopus and prawn casserole, both of which work as a quieter, more relaxed and more reasonably priced alternative to the larger rakı-balık houses of Ortakent. It is ten minutes from central Bodrum, open until midnight in season, runs into early autumn, and weekday-evening reservations are easy.
