| Last reviewed: May 2026 The Tagesbar is Charles Schumann's daytime sister to the Odeonsplatz bar — same architectural hand, same disciplined economy of menu, but it runs from breakfast through aperitif and closes at nine. A long marble counter, white chairs, the Fünf Höfe shopping passages outside the windows. The kitchen is short and exact: vitello tonnato, club sandwich, salade niçoise, properly built daily soup. The drinks are vermouth on ice, a perfect Negroni at noon, espresso pulled the way the old Italians do it. Closed Sundays.

The Fünf Höfe location is precise: this is the lunch counter for the morning at Maffeistraße shopping or the mid-day pause between Pinakothek and Marienplatz. Walk-in works for solo, book for groups. Same Schumann discipline as the Hofgarten room — short list, no theatre.
