Bodrum
The Kumbahçe seafood room with a Michelin Green Star and one menu for the whole house each night
Mehmet Yalçınkaya's seafood room set inside the courtyard of the old Kocadon stone house
When Kocadon's twenty-two-year run ended, Mehmet Yalçınkaya took the courtyard and built something quieter on top of it: a seasonal seafood menu, dry-aged fish as the house signature, surf-and-turf for the table that wants both. The 19th-century Bodrum stone, palms and mulberry trees were left untouched. The result is the closest thing central Bodrum has to a chef's table without the theatre.
Sit in the courtyard, not the indoor room. The dry-aged levrek is the order; pair it with a Vinkara narince rather than the imported list.
