The peninsula's only proper third-wave roastery, between Bodrum-merkez and Bitez
The Adliye Sokak bookshop café where the floor-to-ceiling shelves lean on art, philosophy and sociology
Kaktüs takes the front room of an old Çarşı stone house on Adliye Sokak and packs it floor to ceiling with books: art, philosophy, sociology, psychology, a strong Turkish poetry shelf and a smaller children's section at the back. The kitchen runs Aegean breakfast, salads and a short kitchen card for lunch, with a serious wine and small-batch rakı list for the evening; the room hosts a monthly philosophy circle and occasional author readings. It is the rare central-Bodrum café that turns the spotlight inward.
Ask the host for the philosophy-circle schedule; the monthly Saturday night runs in Turkish but the kitchen stays open through it. Buy a book on the way out — the curation is the real argument for the room.
