Van Kahvaltı Lounge brought the eastern Anatolian breakfast register to Bitez when the bay's kahvaltı houses were still working the orchard-garden model. The Van serpme is the format — dozens of small plates filled with sweet and savoury items prepared fresh each morning, anchored by Van's UNESCO-recognised breakfast culture: the otlu peynir, the kavut, the murtuga, the cheese boards that read more like a tasting flight than a meal. The garden is the room's centre: open-air seating, lush plants, traditional umbrellas, the slow Aegean morning. The chapter holds Van Kahvaltı Lounge as the bay's only credible non-Aegean breakfast — distinct from the mandarin-garden Kuytu Bahçe and Limonata route, and the right answer for the second-house regular who has already worked through the local kahvaltı list.
Order the full Van serpme rather than picking individual plates — the spread is the point. The otlu peynir and murtuga are the format's two markers. Weekends fill by 09:30 in August; weekday tables are walk-in.
