How this is calculated

  • Menus must have a recorded publication source and a valid date within 150 days of the edition. Missing sources, known third-party listings and ambiguous prices are excluded. A recorded source is not a new visit or a live price check.
  • City values give equal weight to qualifying venues. Tasting-menu and drink medians use individual prices, with at least three observations per city.
  • Tasting menus are identified by name, then filtered by the €35 to €600 range. Menu formats, course counts and inclusions can differ.
  • ECB reference, 2026-09-08: €1 = 56.3 TRY; £1 = €1.166. These fixed rates are used for comparison.
  • Edition frozen on 2026-09-08. Later editions and corrections receive their own archive URLs.
  • This is a selected sample, not a census or an inflation measure. Item medians are not meal costs. Service charges, drinks, portion sizes and venue mix vary.
